Meghan Cassidy spent the first part of her career litigating civil rights matters in the Metro Detroit area. She soon thereafter began representing clients throughout the country in highly complex commercial litigation disputes. Ms. Cassidy’s experience includes matters before state and federal courts, appellate courts, bankruptcy courts, Michigan Administrative agencies and various probate courts. Ms. Cassidy’s business practice includes counseling clients and litigating cases in areas of the law such as commercial contract disputes, civil rights violations, RICO claims, trademark enforcement, sexual harassment litigation, property disputes and all areas of civil litigation.
In addition to business services, Ms. Cassidy also provides representation in family law and probate court matters. Because of her background and experience, Clients in domestic disputes have the opportunity to retain an attorney vastly experienced in high conflict litigation who will stand up for them as they navigate emotional and often contentious matters. Ms. Cassidy offers representation in various areas of family and probate law that includes issues of custody, support and parenting time, the challenging and defending the validity of wills and trusts, including issues of undue influence and duress.
Realizing through years of litigation that the goal for any party should be avoiding litigation all together, Meghan began to focus on offering mediation services and has received extensive training and is a Court approved civil and domestic mediator. With her vast subject matter and litigation background, Ms. Cassidy has been very successful assisting parties and their attorneys to reach final and reasonable resolutions to their legal disputes even in the most contentious of matters.
Ms. Cassidy grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan and attended Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula where she obtained her undergraduate degree. She then attended Loyola University School of Law, graduating cum laude. Ms. Cassidy has multiple offices and as a result, is able to provide her legal and mediation services throughout the metro-Detroit area and beyond, including Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac and Huron Counties
